In the Trenches UpdateReagan has been a pain in the ass this week, but in the best way. I’m so ready to fully dive back into the world of the Devils & Darlings. She is going to be such a great character to write and she is really going to give her boy a run for his money. We’re gonna have so much fun together! And of course, I’m working on my Romantasy, and trying to figure out how to plot out either a duology or trilogy. One thing I need to be sure of before I release book 1, is where I’m going with the series. And it is so intimidating. And while I started out writing fantasy before switching to contemporary to write the Devils & Darlings, I am just so much more intimated by the thought of releasing a fantasy novel. The world building, magic systems and storylines. GAH! One thing that has been tripping me up is the idea of the overarching plot line connecting all of the books. That’s been one of my biggest hang ups with writing this series from the beginning. And not knowing where I’m going is my writer kryptonite, for sure. And while the Devils & Darlings has a bit of an over-arching plot line between the books, I did not plan that. At all. In the slightest… But, you know what? It worked out didn’t it? So maybe we just need to get out of our head, trust the process and throw some damn spaghetti at the wall to see if it sticks. I’ll let you know how that works out. Until next time, xoxo, Aj
