In the Trenches UpdateDare I say… Things are going REALLY well. I’ve been spending a lot of time getting organized and employing a bit more structure to my day. Going full time as an author, I’d thought I’d have WAY more time to write than I actually do. A lot of my time is taken up by admin tasks such as cover formatting and re-sizing, ordering, scheduling book events, shipping books, social media management, content creation and of course MARKETING. Which probably takes up over 50% of my time to be honest. 😅 Contrary to a Tiktok I posted earlier this week, this month I established a publishing calendar with goals for each book I want to write over the next 2 years. I broke that down even further to include goals and checkpoints for staying on track and release schedules for each book which will help with overall planning and organization. As many of you know, my primary focus right now is editing my romantasy. I’ve been re-writing it from third person past to first person present. I’ve set a word count goal of 2800 words per day, which should keep me on track for release, assuming I am writing m-f. And so far, I’ve been meeting my daily word count and I am just about halfway through writing it. 💃🏼 And as always Devils & Darlings III is never far from my mind and while I’m not actively writing scenes, I’ve begun laying the groundwork for them. As soon as my romantasy is done and off to my editor, DD3 will have my full focus. 🐶 So yeah, February was a shit show of just being sick and drowning, but March has really come together and I can feel the momentum and I’m really excited for what’s to come!
