Author Q&AQ: What’s coming up next in the Devils & Darlings Series? Any hints or sneak peeks you can give readers? A: I am VERY excited for readers to get their hands on Dare Me to Stay. I really, really hope they love it as much as I do. Koen and Briar were both so angsty and I really feel like I connected on a deeper level with both of these characters. It is my favorite book I’ve written so far. And I also can’t wait to fully dive into writing book 3 now that book 2 is done! Book 3 is Reagan’s book and in book 2 you get a little hint as to which direction her book may be going…. Reagan’s book is going to be a lot of fun to write!🔥🦋 Q: In DMTS, is there a line or moment you’re especially proud of? A: “Her favorite color is pink.” That line, and that scene, as a whole… is probably one of my favorites in the entire book. It wasn’t originally in the manuscript, I went back and re-wrote the climax of the book in late November after listening to NF’s new release: Fear. And, like the line in No Promises No Lies, “He’s a dead man” that line and scene came to me in the middle of the night at like 3am and I just think it’s the perfect line and the perfect way to climax Koen and Briar’s story for how I have it set up. (And I hope it will devastate you as much as it devastated me.) Q: Will Aidan and Rory make an appearance in Dare Me to Stay? A: Yes. Both of them have multiple scenes in Dare Me to Stay. But I think the overall star of the show is going to be Liam! Q: Will Reagan be in Dare Me to Stay? A: Yes. 😏 Q: How long is Dare Me to Stay? A: Right now… the manuscript sits at about 155K words. And the book is approximately 648 pages. (No Promises No Lies is 448 pages in comparison.) Q: If Dare Me to Stay were a song, what would it be? A: That’s so hard!!! But… if I had to pick, I would be torn between four songs that best represent the book: Dare Me to Stay is a book for those who love yearning and tension in their romance. Q: Is book 2 darker than book 1? A: Yes and no. I personally think book 2 does fully cross the line into the dark romance genre, while I like to say No Promises No Lies “skates the line.” There are several scenes in book 2 that I would say are more “dark” romance than book 1. The relationship between Koen and Briar is definitely more of a toxic one and full of red flags but the emotional depth and overall payoff of their relationship is greater and they do have a lot of really cute and sweet moments together. So… yes and no lol. Q: Are there easter eggs in Dare Me to Stay for fans of No Promises No Lies? Are you willing to share any? A: Yes! I do highly recommend a re-read of No Promises No Lies prior to reading Dare Me to Stay, especially if you haven’t read it recently. There are a lot of easter eggs in book 2 you may pick up on. Dare Me to Stay begins before No Promises No Lies ends, so there are few scenes from No Promises No Lies that you get from Koen or even Briar’s POV which I think is really fun and unexpected. One easter egg I can share… at some point in the book, Koen brings Briar back to the loft apartment he shares with his siblings. He’s insisting she stays the night… in his bed and of course, she’s dead set against it. Briar says: “I can just stay in the guest room…” And Koen (who doesn’t share his younger brother’s proclivity for honesty) lies and says: “We don’t have a guest room.” Which only fans of No Promises No Lies will know, is in fact, a bald-faced lie. Q: Are there any bonus/cut scenes for No Promises No Lies? A: No, actually. My particular style of writing… I won’t write a chapter until I am CERTAIN it’s going to be in the book. So for No Promises No Lies, all of the chapters I wrote ended up in the final manuscript. So for bonus scenes to exist, I would have to write new content… but after including Aidan and Rory in DMTS, I’m not ruling out the possibility in the future… Q: What is the timeline for other books in the series? A: Realistically… I can only see myself physically writing 1-2 books a year. That might get faster now that I am writing full time, but I never want to compromise quality for quantity. My goal is to release one book in this series per year. That being said, I do have a backlog of books I’ve already written and NOT published, so I may be releasing books in a new series in between titles in the Devils & Darlings series starting in 2026.
